Coming Soon: I Spit On Your Grave (New Full Length Trailer - Brutal!)
August 9th 2010 00:38
Category: Coming Soon!, Horror
U.S. Release: October 8, 2010
Director: Steven R. Monroe
Starring: Sarah Butler
This is a remake of the 1978 cult classic. Writer, Jennifer Hills takes time off from work and leaves the city for a cabin in the woods to begin writing her next book. However, her peaceful retreat is short lived when her presence soon attracts the small town lunatics who capture her and subject her to the ultimate in human depravity and torture. Before they can kill her, she manages to escape.
Thinking she's dead, they return back to their usual lives but little do they know that Jennifer is alive and well and she is out to get her revenge.
I wonder if this remake will be as controversial as the original which was banned in several countries because it was believed to have "glorified violence against women".
YIKES!!!

I agree, although I don't think this is my cup of tea. I'll wait to hear the verdict from others who see it.

As dramatically inept as the original is, I'm curious to see the remake to see if they are prepared to go the distance, or even raise the stakes, so to speak, which is what a remake should do, otherwise that is the point? I suppose it anything the production values will be better and presumably the calibre of acting, which was the case of the remake of Last House on the Left, the original of which was another inept piece of rape-revenge garbage. As controversial as the sub-genre is, I've only seen a couple that were truly effective as nightmare movies (Ms. 45 and I'll Never Die Alone)
I didn't watch the trailer, preferring to see the movie cold.
I reviewed the original here, if you're interested.
