Welcome to "Cinema Herald". My aim is to bring movie reviews to a somewhat different level. I don't know about you guys but I'm sick and tired of Critics who dissect a movie to bits. Who cares about all that deep stuff, sometimes you just want to know if you'll be entertained or not. Is it worth me spending $10? Now don't get me wrong, sometimes when we watch a movie, it does require us to put on our thinking caps and I'll do that from time to time depending on the film I review but for the most part, I just want to know if I'm going to have a laugh or a cry or even crap my pants - in other words, will it take my mind off the fact that I'm broke and my rent is due for a few hours? Movies are a public service...they are to help us escape for a few hours and forget that we're overworked and under paid.

Coming Soon: Lebanon (Trailer)

June 5th 2010 01:07
Category: Coming Soon!, Drama
U.S. Release: August 13, 2010 Limited
Director: Samuel Moaz
Starring: Oshri Cohen, Itay Tiran, Michael Moshonov, Zohar Strauss, Ashraf Barhom

Lebanon tells the story of the The First Lebanon War - June, 1982. A lone tank is dispatched to search a hostile town that has already been bombarded by the Israeli Air Force. What seems to be a simple mission gradually spins out of control. Shmuel the gunner, Assi the commander, Herzl the loader and Yigal the driver are the tank's crew, four 20-something boys who have never fought in a war and are now operating a killing machine. Though trying to remain brave, the boys are pushed to their mental limits as they struggle to survive in a situation they cannot contain, and try not to lose their humanity in the chaos of war. - Yahooo

Most of the action takes place inside a tank set during the First Lebanon War in 1982. It's written and directed by Israeli filmmaker Samuel Maoz, who based the film on his personal experiences in the war.

This looks very gripping and its great to get another viewpoint on the ravages of war from a different perspective.
