Welcome to "Cinema Herald". My aim is to bring movie reviews to a somewhat different level. I don't know about you guys but I'm sick and tired of Critics who dissect a movie to bits. Who cares about all that deep stuff, sometimes you just want to know if you'll be entertained or not. Is it worth me spending $10? Now don't get me wrong, sometimes when we watch a movie, it does require us to put on our thinking caps and I'll do that from time to time depending on the film I review but for the most part, I just want to know if I'm going to have a laugh or a cry or even crap my pants - in other words, will it take my mind off the fact that I'm broke and my rent is due for a few hours? Movies are a public service...they are to help us escape for a few hours and forget that we're overworked and under paid.

Coming Soon: Life As We Know It (Trailer)

May 27th 2010 02:17
U.S. Release: October 8, 2010
Director: Greg Berlanti
Starring: Josh Duhamel and Katherine Heigl.

Life As We Know It is about Holly Berenson (Heigle) an up-and-coming caterer and Eric Messer (Duhamel) a promising network sports director. After a disastrous first date, the only thing they have in common is their dislike for each other and their love for their goddaughter, Sophie. But when they suddenly become all Sophie has in the world, Holly and Eric are forced to put their differences aside. Juggling career ambitions and competing social calendars, they'll have to find some common ground while living under one roof. - Yahoo.com

Life as We Know It was directed by TV writer/producer Greg Berlanti (who wrote for Everwood, Dirty Sexy Money and Eli Stone) who directed The Broken Hearts Club back in 2000, he also penned The Green Lantern. Ian Deitchman (Border Line).

You can't really judge a movie by the trailer - not usually anyway and as I've always said there is nothing new under the sun, it's all about the delivery, however this one reeks of What Happens In Vegas (Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher) about two people who under special circumstances are forced to live with each and in time discover that they love each other. This could be a fun watch but it looks predictable and worse yet it doesn't seem to have a supporting cast to save the day so everything hangs on Heigl and Duhamel. I'm always willing to give things a try though - only this time I think I'll wait for the DVD.
