Coming Soon: Machete - by Robert Rodriquez (Illegal Trailer)
May 6th 2010 01:33
Category: Coming Soon!
U.S. Release: September 3, 2010
Director: Robert Rodriquez
Starring: Danny Trejo, Robert DeNiro, Michelle Rodriquez, Jessica Alba, Lindsay Lohan, Steven Seagal, Jeff Fahey, and Don Johnson
After being betrayed by the organization who hired him, an ex-Federale named Machete (played by Danny Trejo) launches a brutal rampage of revenge against his former boss.
Over on Aint It Cool News the word is that Robert Rodriquez released this "illegal" trailer with a Cinco De Mayo message, in which he talked FOX into being included. This movie could not have been released at the right time because in the state of Arizona, a new and controversial immigration law has been passed which has sparked protest across the states.
The lines have been drawn - while some people believe the law is needed in order to control the illegal immigration problems, others fear the law will lead to unfair racial profiling and practices.
Make no bones about it, this is one of those rare movie moments when life imitates art (well, kinda! in anyway) - and it's definitely a "bitch-slap" in the face to the good state of Arizona, where trouble is brewing on the horizon.
"Machete" looks like a a lot of fun and it's definitely on my must-see list.

The new Arizona law requires immigrants to carry their alien registration documents at all times and requires police to question people if there is reason to suspect they are in the United States illegally. The measure also makes it a state crime to live in or travel through Arizona illegally. - CNN.com
