Category: Comedy, Coming Soon!
U.S. Release: November 12, 2010
Director: Roger Mitchell
Starring: Harrison Ford, Rachel McAdams, Patrick Wilson, Jeff Goldblum, Diane Keaton, 50 Cent
Paramount Pictures has debuted the trailer for its upcoming comedy produced by J.J. AbramsMorning Glory. It's the story about a hot-shot female news producer (McAdams) who recruits a legendary, temperamental anchorman (Ford) to revive a failing morning news show and all hell breaks loose, especially when he clashes with Diane Keaton's character! - Yahoo
Okay guys, I don't know about you but I am dying to see a Harrison Ford movie in which he uses the phrase "suck-it!". I'm serious, that alone is worth my $10.
Morning Glory is directed by South Africa-born filmmaker Roger Michell (Notting Hill, Changing Lanes, The Mother, Enduring Love and Venus). The screenplay was written by Aline Brosh McKenna (Laws of Attraction, The Devil Wears Prada and 27 Dresses).
I love seeing movies where polished actors like Ford let loose and do comedy and I wish more would come out and share their comedic shops, like Leonardo DiCaprio, Russell Crowe, and Denzel Washington. I mean, come on, I know they can act their butts off, there's no doubt about that, I want to see the funny side.
I'm definitely there for this one. It's been a while since we last saw Ford in something good anyway, of course he's getting up there in age but he's still my favorite actor.

Film & TV on DVD
The trailer seems to be in the Broadcast News/Soapdish vein which are two films I enjoy. Trouble is there happens to be a sappy Working Girl vibe there too which repels..may check it out on DVD but having the Notting Hill Director on board doesn't seem like a good thing

I was thinking Broadcast News but you know what? No movie is original, they've all been done before. As a screenwriter, I've learned that it doesn't matter how original or un-original a movie is, what matters is the delivery or how to get from point A to point B. My focus on this movie is the chemistry between two great veteran actors: Harrison Ford and Diane Keaton.
And also, personally, I just want to see a movie where Harrison Ford says: SUCK IT! To me, that's original!

I was actually being favorable when I said it reminded me of Broadcast News and Soapdish. Just don't like the working Girl feel good vibe to it.
Totally agree with the fact nothing is wholly original, but I do like things to evolve on existing plots.
Cool to here your a screenwriter too. Seems we both share a similar passion.

I know you were being favorable. I was in reflection mode, which is why I mentioned that nothing is original. I suppose that's why Hollywood is into all these remakes
Yup, I've been writing for years but only recently have I formulated all my notes and experiences into screenplays. I have three completed works and countless story ideas.
Last year, I made the top 25% in one of the major competitions although I didn't make QF and the year before that I made QF with my first script in a minor competition.
After several revisions I made a bit of headway and had my work requested by several major Talent managers in LA - no luck yet but hopefully I'll get there.
How about you?
Cheers
