Coming Soon: Rango with Johnny Depp (2 Trailers)
June 30th 2010 11:33
Category: Adventure
U.S. Release: March 4, 2011
Director: Gore Verbinski
Starring: Johnny Depp, Abigail Breslin, Bill Nighy, Isla Fisher, Alfred Molina and Ray Winstone
This is the story of Rango, a somewhat cute and humble chameleon, condemned for so long to sitting in trees, sticking its tongue out from time to time and undergoing tiring colour changes. The household pet embarks on a journey of self-discovery that will take in the western town of Dirt and, if this picture is anything to go on, industrial amounts of PCP. Hunter Thompson would be proud. -Empireonline
This Gore Verbinski-directed animation sees Johnny Depp play the titular lizard and, thanks to First Showing, here's the movie's protagonist in all his Gonzo-like glory.
TRAILER #1
TRAILER #2
This one looks really cute and worth seeing!
The script was written by John Logan (Gladiator, The Last Samurai, The Aviator, Sweeney Todd) based on a story by Verbinski and James Ward Byrkit. ILM is animating using "cutting edge techniques" that "allow [them] to capture and translate every aspect of Johnny's performance, using it to drive the computer-generated character in a way that has yet to be seen." - Firstshowing
