Welcome to "Cinema Herald". My aim is to bring movie reviews to a somewhat different level. I don't know about you guys but I'm sick and tired of Critics who dissect a movie to bits. Who cares about all that deep stuff, sometimes you just want to know if you'll be entertained or not. Is it worth me spending $10? Now don't get me wrong, sometimes when we watch a movie, it does require us to put on our thinking caps and I'll do that from time to time depending on the film I review but for the most part, I just want to know if I'm going to have a laugh or a cry or even crap my pants - in other words, will it take my mind off the fact that I'm broke and my rent is due for a few hours? Movies are a public service...they are to help us escape for a few hours and forget that we're overworked and under paid.

Coming Soon: The Other Guys (Trailer)

April 23rd 2010 14:52
Category: Coming Soon!
U.S. Release Date: August 9, 2010
Director: Adam McKay
Cast: Will Farrell, Mark Wahlberg, Eva Mendes, Michael Keaton, Samuel L. Jackson, and The Rock

Coming soon to a theater near you is "The Other Guys".

Farrell and Wahlberg play a couple of misfit cops who are struggling to claim "badass" status - a title that's owned by Samuel L. Jackson and The Rock.

I know, I know, many people either "love" or "hate" Will Farrell. I happen to be the former. I find his brand of humor absurdly amusing and I can't believe that someone actually thought to pair him up with Mark Wahlberg - what an odd combination. But judging by the trailer the rapper formerly known as Marky Mark can hold his own in the comedy arena and I am thoroughly impressed!

Speaking of comedy duos, did you happen to check out the opening sequence with Samuel L. Jackson and The Rock? Samuel L. Jackson has always terrified me because of his past "angry black man" roles and well...he's still a scary "angry black man" but now he's funny. What can I say about The Rock? (girly sigh).

If you like "The Anchorman" and "Tallegeda" nights, then chances are you're going to enjoy this comedy which will be brought to you by the same director, Adam McKay.

Let's just hope they don't make this into a 3-D movie at the last minute!
