Coming Soon: You Again (Trailer)
May 5th 2010 01:24
Category: Comedy, Coming Soon!
U.S. Release: September 24, 2010
Director: Andy Fickman
Starring: Kristen Bell, Sigourney Weaver, Jamie Lee Curtis, Betty White, Kristin Chenowith, and Odette Yutsman
"You Again" is about a young woman played by Kristen Bell, who discovers that her brother is about to marry the woman who bullied her throughout high school. Apparently her mom (Jamie Lee Curtis), also has her own issues with her formal rival (Sigourney Weaver).
Yikes, I can see one major plot-hole already but what the heck! It looks like it has potential and let's face it, it definitely has Betty White, who's recently established herself in Hollywood as the comedic actress everyone loves. I think the code in Tinseltown is that "If you're not sure it's funny, cast Betty White!"
The only thing I'm skeptical about is that sometimes Hollywood has a weird idea of what good comedy is - forced one liners and slap-stick are often disastrous. I just hope this movie doesn't rely too heavily on either.
Regardless, it's fun to see actresses like Curtis and Weaver getting their comedy on.
