Welcome to "Cinema Herald". My aim is to bring movie reviews to a somewhat different level. I don't know about you guys but I'm sick and tired of Critics who dissect a movie to bits. Who cares about all that deep stuff, sometimes you just want to know if you'll be entertained or not. Is it worth me spending $10? Now don't get me wrong, sometimes when we watch a movie, it does require us to put on our thinking caps and I'll do that from time to time depending on the film I review but for the most part, I just want to know if I'm going to have a laugh or a cry or even crap my pants - in other words, will it take my mind off the fact that I'm broke and my rent is due for a few hours? Movies are a public service...they are to help us escape for a few hours and forget that we're overworked and under paid.

Definitely, Maybe (2008) poster

Maya Hayes' (Abigail Breslin) parents are getting a divorce and she thinks she may have a way to stop it. She asks her dad, Will Hayes (Ryan Reynolds), to tell her the story of how they met, hoping he'll remember what attracted him to her mother in the first place, and fall in love with her again.

Will knows what she is up to and refuses to tell her the story. Maya manages to talk him into telling her the story when she decides to repeat the colorful terms she learned in sex-ed class that day until he gives in.

So he tells her the story of how they met, but with the names of the three women in his story changed. Maya has to guess which one ends up being her mother. Armed with a pad, Maya takes notes on what she learns about each woman as the story is told in flashbacks.

I thought I knew how the end was going to turn out but I was wrong. That was good because sometimes I feel cheated when the story is too predictable.

Great movie, lots of fun, a tiny bit of a tear jerker at one point.
