Welcome to "Cinema Herald". My aim is to bring movie reviews to a somewhat different level. I don't know about you guys but I'm sick and tired of Critics who dissect a movie to bits. Who cares about all that deep stuff, sometimes you just want to know if you'll be entertained or not. Is it worth me spending $10? Now don't get me wrong, sometimes when we watch a movie, it does require us to put on our thinking caps and I'll do that from time to time depending on the film I review but for the most part, I just want to know if I'm going to have a laugh or a cry or even crap my pants - in other words, will it take my mind off the fact that I'm broke and my rent is due for a few hours? Movies are a public service...they are to help us escape for a few hours and forget that we're overworked and under paid.

Coming Soon: The Last Airbender (Trailer)

April 26th 2010 12:40
Category: Action, Adventure
Release Date: July 2, 2010
Director: M. Night Shyamalan
Cast: Noah Ringer, Dev Patel, Jackson Rathbone, Nicola Peltz, Shaun Toub

I've never got the criticism that's thrown at M. Night Shyamalan. He has always been and most likely always will be one of my favorite movie directors. To me, he's part of a dying breed in Hollywood - a genuine story teller. He's so good that he doesn't need big named stars to attract an audience. Tell a good story and they will come.

His next movie to hit theaters is "The Last Airbender"

"The Last Airbender" is an adaptation based on the first season of the animated television series called: "Avatar: The Last Airbender".

The story follows Aang, a reluctant hero who prefers adventure over duty. He is a reincarnation of the latest Avatar who is able to control all elements: fire, water, air, and earth, and bring peace and balance.

The movie is the first of a planned trilogy and of course it will be released on both 2D and 3D screens.

This is one of the highly anticipated summer releases. If we could determine the fate of the film by simply watching the trailer, I'd say it looks like a winner, hands down. This is a big departure from Shyamalans usual films but I have no doubt that he is able to pull it off. Even the die-hard critics who have vowed never to see a movie by him again will be waiting in line for their ticket.

I'm already there!
