Most Un-original Anticipated Movies of 2010

Just been checking out the Highly anticipated movies for the Summer of 2010 and guess what most of them have in common? Okay, you might have already guessed by reading the title of this post. Most of them are unoriginal. As a matter of fact Hollywood has been steadily traveling this road for quite some time now...when will it end?
That's not to say that these movies will bomb or anything like that - I'm sure a few of them will rise to the occasion but it just makes me wonder if Hollywood is all it's cracked up to be. In the future the movie industry will look more and more to the past to entertain us. If it's not a comic book or a remake of a movie, or a remake of a TV show, or a movie version of a video game it's revisiting the careers of long ago action heroes way past their prime.
Is it really necessary to introduce the new generation of film audiences to the likes of Sylvester Stallone? I don't know about anyone else but I'm ashamed to admit to my niece that I once thought "Rocky 3" was Oscar worthy. Or that "Footloose" was one of the best movies of 1984.
Hollywood's idea of revamping these artifacts are not very creative either. "Footloose" will, of course, be updated to reflect the times and I wonder how on earth will it makes sense today? Is there really a small town out there that some Reverend won't allow teenagers to dance? If there is, I'm sure he got a beat-down or someone busted a cap in his a**. Teenagers don't play that nowadays! Or how about "The A-Team"? Let's take a wild guess - It'll have big guns, loud explosions, outrageous stunts and silly one liners. We all should be insulted that Hollywood has sold us cheaply or is it our fault? When will we wake up and realize that this stuff is just not 'cool' anymore? Is it me, or has Julia Roberts' teeth gotten bigger - there was a time when she was charming - now, when she laughs, it makes me want to punch someone.
Anyhow, I digress, here's a list of some of the most anticipated movies of Summer 2010. These are not listed in any particular order.
1. Salt - Starring Angelina Jolie
2. Iron Man 2 - Starring Robert Downey Jr.
3. Sex And The City 2 - Starring Sarah Jessica Parker
4. Twilight: Eclipse - Starring Kristen Stewart & Robert Pattinson
5. Inception - Starring Leonardo DiCaprio
6. Robin Hood - Starring Russell Crowe
7. A Nightmare On Elm Street - Starring Jackie Earl Haley
8. Prince Of Persia: Sands of Time - Starring Jake Gyllenhaal
9. The A-Team - Starring Liam Neeson
10. The Expendables - Starring Sylvester Stallone
11. Eat Pray Love - Starring Julia Roberts
Out of the 11, there's only about 1 that I can say I'm honestly looking forward to and that's because the plot is shrouded in mystery, I hope "Inception" doesn't disappoint.
Come on Hollywood, give us something we can sink our teeth into. Make me, at least, want to spend my $10.00! I dare you!
