Welcome to "Cinema Herald". My aim is to bring movie reviews to a somewhat different level. I don't know about you guys but I'm sick and tired of Critics who dissect a movie to bits. Who cares about all that deep stuff, sometimes you just want to know if you'll be entertained or not. Is it worth me spending $10? Now don't get me wrong, sometimes when we watch a movie, it does require us to put on our thinking caps and I'll do that from time to time depending on the film I review but for the most part, I just want to know if I'm going to have a laugh or a cry or even crap my pants - in other words, will it take my mind off the fact that I'm broke and my rent is due for a few hours? Movies are a public service...they are to help us escape for a few hours and forget that we're overworked and under paid.

Move News: Colin Farrell joins cast of Fright Night

"Fright Night" is one of my favorite horror-comedy movies. Once in a while when I'm in the mood for comedy-horror (which is rare), I find myself pulling this from the shelf and blowing the dust off the jacket and tuning out for a good 90 minutes.

Anton Yelchin (Star Trek, Terminator: Salvation) will take over the role originated by William Ragsdale, Toni Collete will play his mother and none other than Colin Farrell has been added to the cast to play Jerry Dandridge, who was the most charming vampire I've witnessed in years. Chris Sarandon was awesome as the handsome blood-sucker who convincingly combined charm and menace - who would have thought it was possible. Colin Farrell is an interesting choice and I will reserve judgment until I see the first photo or the first trailer.

Farrell has been laying low, performing lowkey for the past few years. He garnered praise for his performances in "In Bruge" and "Crazy Heart". If you haven't seen "In Bruge" do yourself a favor and rent it, it is by far my favorite Colin Farrell movie to date.

When I found out that this movie is going to be remade - of course my skeptical meter rose to an all time high, however I must admit that this is one of those films that make sense to remake, I just hope they do it justice and refrain from taking second guesses at what they think the audience might like and stick close to the original formula which made the first film so enjoyable. If it ain't broke don't fix it and if you're going to do a remake and you want to change things around, just enhance what's already there and leave the rest alone - Just saying!

Another remake that scares me for all the wrong reasons. So few capture the essence of what makes the originals work.

With you on the In Bruges appreciation. Tigerland is a close second for me with Colin Farrell.

I've never seen Tigerland. I've heard about it. I'll give it a look.
