I've watched all 4 seasons over a matter of just a few weeks so maybe it's more noticeable to me, then to someone who has watched it once a week for the past few years, but this show has gotten ridiculous.
It started out with Nancy Botwin (Mary Louis-Parker) selling marijuana to some of the residents of her cookie cutter suburban town. Just trying to make ends meet after her husband dies. This leads to some funny moments. The show isn't bad to watch so far. But at the end of the 4th season she is having the baby of the Mayor and drug kingpin of Tijuana?
Whats on the schedule for next season...Columbian drug lord? I wish I was joking but I'm willing to take bets that I'm not far off.
Her son, Silas (Hunter Parrish), the high school drop out and typical mindless teenager, who purposely got his g/f pregnant to prevent her from leaving and going to college, is now a master plant geneticist created amazing marijuana hybrids. Ok thats not far-fetched at all is it.
Her other son, Shane (Alexander Gould), who is supposed to be 13 but looks about 8 is having 3somes and is in charge of the contractors remodeling their house.
Celia Hodges (Elizabeth Perkins), is the town bitch with a capital B. She is obnoxious and is hated by everyone, especially her daughter who she picks on mercilessly. Your even slightly happy when she tries to cause trouble for someone but it backfires on her. Even though she is an awful person she does have some brains, or did. She has recently been relegated to the drooling idiot with no brain cells sitting in the corner.

Somehow Nancy Botwin has managed to have a DEA agent working for her, broken up multiple drug rings, caused the death of a DEA agent and collected his pension, had a grow house, and now presumably check-mated the Tijuana drug kingpin by supposedly getting pregnant by him. I say supposedly because she knew she was in trouble with him so she may just be faking it. She also sleeps around quite a bit so she might be pregnant, as for the father that's anyones guess.
Since I did see the show over such a short period of time I noticed that as the show got sillier and sillier the more T and A it showed. By the last episode I think there were more scenes with her boobs showing than without.
Theres nothing wrong with this but be consistent. If your going to make a show thats over the top and exaggerated, make it that way from the start. Its like having a teenager shoplift from a dollar store and ending up with a cross country police chase with 100 cops and helicopters, SWAT, and the National Guard all chasing her.
